SAN DIEGO - April 16, 2007 - Reaction Design, the clean technology chemistry leader, today announced that Rolf Reitz, Ph.D., has been appointed to the company's board of directors. Dr. Reitz is a distinguished professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison's Department of Mechanical Engineering and is a former director of its internationally recognized Engine Research Center. "Dr. Reitz brings a wealth of scientific and business experience to the board," said Chairman Albert Hugo-Martinez. "We believe that he will help guide Reaction Design to deliver customer-focused solutions across all its markets." Dr. Reitz earned his Ph.D. at Princeton University and has been at the University of Wisconsin-Madison since 1989. Prior to that, he spent six years at the General Motors Research Laboratories. "Reaction Design has a unique combination of chemists, engineers and software development professionals devising tools that will change the way engineers work in industries like automotive engine design, energy production, and chemical processing," said Dr. Reitz. "I'm excited about this company's prospects and am eager to contribute to its success." Dr. Reitz joins five distinguished members of Reaction Design's board:
"I look forward to working with such a well-known member of the combustion-science community," said Rosenthal. "Dr. Reitz's knowledge of chemical kinetics will be an excellent complement to the board's existing expertise, and his experience with fluid-dynamics and real-world engine systems will enable us to bring valuable solutions to engineers."
